Our story
Founded inside. Built for everyone.
P.E.P.A. emerged from the Pelican Bay P.E.A.C.E. Agreement — a cross-racial commitment to reducing violence and promoting unity within California's prison system.
History
From the inside out
2011 – 2015
Incarcerated individuals in California organized three historic hunger strikes challenging long-term isolation in the Security Housing Unit. These efforts led to the Pelican Bay P.E.A.C.E. Agreement — the End of All Hostilities.
The agreement
A cross-racial commitment that contributed to safer prison environments, a sustained decline in conflict, and significant institutional changes across California.
P.E.P. Talk Group founded
Born inside Solano State Prison, built on the belief that preparation, unity, and structured support are essential to successful reintegration.
